DescriptionI put in the link to fanfiction.net and after clicking on 'Check' or 'Check & Download' the button fades out but nothing happens even after 5 minutes.

I have uninstalled and re-installed it but it still happens.

I think I'm finally able to reproduce this issue. Somethimes you see the message "We are checking your Browser, please wait" when accessing ff.net.
I think I've resolved the issue, so please try again with 0.9.4 (Not sure if I'll be able to release it this evening, could be also tomorrow)

Hi,

I have downloaded version 0.9.4 but the issue is still appearing. i have:
1. Uninstalled 0.9.3
2. Use CCleaner to clear any leftover register
3. Delete and leftover FanfictionDownloader file\
4. Restart the laptop.
5. Disable avast anti-virus
6. DEP disabled except for Windows program
7. Download 0.9.4. Right-click > Property and ensure security did not block it
8. Right-click on the setup and run as Admin
9. After installation is completed, I went to firewall and added FanfictionDownloader.exe and QTProcess.exe to allow connect in both inbound and outbound.
10. Avast is still disabled.

Event Viewer shows no errors or warning from the time I open the FanfictionDownloader 0.9.4 until I select "Check and Download" even after refreshing the Event Viewer a couple of time. Waited for 30 minutes after pressing "Check and Download"
 


Is there any other place I can look for errors? Or is there a windows update that is needed? The last update on the laptop with this issue was at 10th December 2020.

Hi,

I found an error for the FanfictionDownloader but I can't remember what it was doing at that time. So far did not manage to get this error again. Adding this just incase it helps.

Hi,
ich habe gerade auf Version 0.9.4 aktualisiert, aber der FFDL startet nicht einmal. Es gibt keinen Hinweis auf ein Startproblem, keine Fehlermeldung oder sonst ein Hinweis auf ein Problem.
Ich nutze Linux Mint 20, also die Linux-Version des FFDL.

Hi,

I finally fixed the issue. I turned on "Function Discovery Resource Publication" in Windows Services and it works now.
